A PLACE TO SIMPLY BE

Nakama no Ie

A time when the heart can soften—
familiar,
and gentle.

Nakama no Ie is a place where people connect with one another, where land meets memory, where the present meets what is yet to come—and where we reconnect with ourselves.

We hope that simply being here lets you breathe a little more deeply. This place is quietly open, not for a chosen few, but for anyone moving through everyday life.

Our Story

Transforming what we inherited into a new form, and carrying it into the future.

This house has stood here for more than 150 years—perhaps much longer.

“People have always gathered here. It should become a community space for local people. We should welcome visitors from overseas, too.”

These hopes were passed down by the previous generation who cared for this home. With the ideas and generous help of many people, those hopes gradually took shape. In early summer 2022, the old house was given new life as Nakama no Ie.

The name holds two meanings: Nakama, the family name once carried by those who lived here, and nakama, the Japanese word for the companions who now gather around this place.
